Unforgettable experience, this place is amazing. It was the first time for me and my wife in a Ryokan. There are various inside and outside Onsen, and also a private Onsen. The service is great and the food is wonderful. The employees were extremely kind and dedicated in our well-being.

Minshuku Asogen, a property with a garden, is situated in Aso, 30 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 38 km from Kumamoto Castle, as well as 38 km from Suizenji Park. the food is amazing, especially the dinner - don't skip it! the bath is nice, room is cosy and the stuff are nice.

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. perfect. staff was very nice, location incredible and onsen just magic. I recommend you to take the diner as it was excellent

Enjoyed the quaint garden path along the river on the property. There were many baths (with great water quality), some of which are private, but with no extra charge. The outdoor pools were heavenly, one of which was by the riverside and a waterfall view. The room was clean and huge with two very comfortable twin beds and a balcony. The Japanese-style breakfast was great, although if one wants a western style, it may be a problem. The service was impeccable. You couldn’t ask for more pleasant and helpful staff.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. It was excellent! It was the highlight of our trip! Everything was amazing and very relaxing. Excellent location, accommodation, Onsen, staff, food, everything!

Situated in the centre of the Kurokawa Onsen Area and boasting a total of 8 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Nanjoen offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with tatami (woven-straw) flooring... Gorgeous traditional ryokan, with beautifully appointed rooms—we had one of the en-suite onsen baths, and I highly recommend it! The dinners and breakfasts were sumptuous and almost too much food, all very delicious. The staff is friendly, impeccable, and very helpful. The area itself is also lovely, with plenty of shops and nearby onsens to explore.

Surrounded by forest, tranquil Yamashinobu features public and private hot spring baths, an astronomical observatory and a piano. This hotel is superb! Very Peaceful. All service is great. Room and bed are very comfortable.
