The property is very thoughtfully designed and maintained. For instance, there are freshwater showers outside the water bungalows and spaced out slats in the jetty for the water to drain immediately. The linen and towels were very clean and smelled very fresh. The bread was freshly baked by the owner every morning. The coral life at the jetty is amazing and we could snorkel endlessly.

Located in Besir in the West Papua region, GAM BAY bungalow's features a balcony and sea views. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace. Aron’s bay is beautiful. It is remote and full of life. I laid in the hammock all afternoon and watched the fish and birds all around me. Linda who helps Aron run the place always has a smile and cooks great food. The bathrooms are what you would expect around here, dip Mandi and dip toilet. Not my favorite, but normal for the area. The bungalows are well built, but I run hot and I did find that I wish I had a battery operated fan. Aron took me on a snorkel tour to Arborek island. I saw so many fish! He is a great guide, we had a lot of fun.

Not only by name, but by actual actions and solutions the owner has implemented. I have never seen such wisdom and dedication when it comes to running place like that. You should come here to at least pick up Jack’s brain. He’s such an inspiration! Other than that, we have had the best food experience over there. We are vegan and they catered to our needs soo well. We could even pick the plants from their garden that we wanted to have in our meals. That was amazing! The lodge itself is very spacious, clean, has ensuited bathroom and overall is charming and beautiful. The whole place is run by amazing people, not only Jack but his entire family and staff members. Thank you so much for having us! We will definitely be back someday 😊
