The hop on hop off bus tour is a must The place is very clean in general Like most cities there is homelessness but although upsetting to see it did not impact on our trip The catalonians are extremely friendly and speak good English
Barcelona is my favourite place in the world and I have no problem admitted my bias. I've been back 7 times, this time I was in the middle of a trip through Eastern Europe, the cold weather got too much for me so I took a detour to Catalonia. The vibe of the city is so laid back for such a busy and business heavy city. You'll never be bored, I speculate it would be impossible to see everything. But you'll encounter endless famous sites, architecture, markets and foods, shopping and street performers just by walking around the city. La Rambla, Placa de Catalunya and the Gothic Quarter are the main areas of interest, getting lost in the Gothic Quarter is a good way to find nice cafes and food - though as with any city, the further from the centre the lower the price. A trip to Montserrat is also worth it for a little hike and gorgeous views back towards the city. Barcelona also gives the chance to watch one of the worlds best sporting teams, as well as celebrate in any number of Spanish holidays throughout the year. It is Elysium to me.
Weather was nice for early March and plenty of places to visit and explore - circuit Catalonia F1 - Camp Nou - Montserrat - Sagrada familia - Beaches And many more
Fascinating city. Loads to see & do with great food & drink. Hop on hop off buses a great way to see a lot of the sights. Make time in your itinerary to just sit in a park, square, or bar to just watch the world. Cabs very reasonable price & most drivers have a grasp of English. National gallery of art & museum of catalonia brilliant. Practically every little bar & restaurant excellent. Try & eat local dishes as they are so good. Restaurants are fine with lone diners & don't push you to the worst tables. Park guell has long queues to get in & really needs to sort out better ladies facilities so don't miss out on using them.
We had been before so we planned to avoid the busiest attractions. We came in April so the weather wasn't too hot for walking about. We spent one day on the beach, one on Montjuic, an evening in Poble Sec All easy to get to from our neighbourhood - the Raval - so much to see there too- modern and Catalonian art and hidden gems of Gaudi and other architects. Our favourite bar was Muy Buen for modernista style,Catalan food and brilliant cocktail bar staff
I knew almost nothing about the city other than having been aware that it had hosted the summer Olympics. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty, cleanliness, history and climate. A great vacation destination that I would recommend highly to anyone visiting Catalonia.
Lovely Catalonia style resort not built up, if you want to know how the locals holiday it is a must, near enough to Barcelona to get the bus or train in. Best of both. Loved it.
Badalona is not one of the greatest cities in Catalonia but it has its charm. The Badalona Ramblas offer a nice walk flanked with not too many nice terraces and a view of the sea while "Carrer Del Mar" with its shops can be a very positive experience for the casual shopper. In summer the beach is strip is long, clean and pleasant. There are also a few restaurants that are worth visiting. If not happy with Badalona, a taxi, train, bus or the tube can take you to Barcelona in no time.
Loved Casa Batlló. Park Güell and La Rambla . Beautiful city with some much to see. The Segrada Familia is stunning. There is so much more that we would like to have seen and will certainly go back. There is good food to be had a the Brasserie across the road from Catalonia La Pedrera. Also a great Italian restaurant not far away called Pizeria Eden
I have been visiting Roses for the last 35 years. The beaches are now fabulous the overall the place is beautiful. My family spend many years at the Marina Hotel. We went into the bar to meet my Sister who lives in Catalonia. It was 9.30 in the evening. 6 of us asked for a drink and 2 wanted a cold Sandwich. We were greeted by a sullen rude waitress who informed us the kitchen was closed and we close at 10.00 what is going on with Catalonia and Rosas, it’s a holiday resort with Tourists..... won’t be back to Marina otherwise I love Rosas.
Great location for travellers with car, the hotel has a lot of free parking around it, and there are many restaurants near it so it's not some a isolated place. so if you want a place to comeback at night after traveling around Catalonia it's a great place to stay in The views are amazing from the room as the pictures and the room is clean. AC works great. The wifi is good, not very fast but at least it is stable. All the staff members were very kind and helpful and can speak English
Exceptional place. New managers Alex and Gina started two months ago and they are so kind, welcoming and hard working. The hotel is beautiful, clean and relaxing. I stayed 6 days and this was my favorite hotel of all the places I visited in Catalonia. Alex gave me lots of great advice on where to hike and he and Gina also gave me great local knowledge on where to visit next. Protected onsite parking was great, and the pool is fantastic. 100% recommended!
La Bionda is a hidden gem in the city center of Begur. This location was perfect in finding something to enjoy the history of Catalonia, with many shops and restaurants easily walkable. The hotel inspired after The Grand Budapest has small touches that make you feel like you’re at home - welcoming spaces to hang out beyond the luxurious room accommodations. Carla and the team made our stay so personable, that we extended our stay by another night.
The room was lovely and I liked the Catalonian tile floors. It would have been more pleasant still if it were a bit larger and had a balcony, but the garden patio is nice. The house is beautiful. It's mainly quiet, but sometimes the cars driving by and the people walking up from or down to the parking lot could be a bit noisy. I liked the kitchen and lounge area. Leaving little croissants for the guests on the table is a nice touch.
Amabilitat, habitació impecable, ben situat, menjar bo i variat, tant el sopar com l'esmorzar. / Very kind staff, very clean and wide bedroom, breakfast and supper very good indeed. This Hotel is very good located to explore l'Escala and the north east of the amazing country Catalonia : Cadaques, Girona, Begur, Calella de Palafrugell, Monells, Pals, Peratallada, Banyoles Lake, Besalu and the volcanic area in La Garrotxa.
Very beautiful hotel, small oasis inside the city. A lot of green space, very nice swimming pool and a lot of attractions for the guests like ping pong, mini golf, billard. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was very good. The hotel’s staff was very friendly, helpful, made us feel very comfortable. Big plus for being dog friendly without an extra cost which doesnt happen a lot in Catalonia.
The superior room overlooking the sea was absolutely bliss!!! The balcony was superbly positioned, we just did not want to move! The hotel is warm, typical Catalan hotel that has been operating for decades, where quality standards are still high, in food, cleanliness, comfort, and location. S'Agaro itself is one of the best summer resorts we have been in Catalonia so far.
Girona
La Granera is a beautiful holiday home on a breathtaking location. We liked the serene environment very much. The location is quite central in Catalonia: the Costa Brava, Pyrenees and the medieval Catalonian towns are all within 1-1,5h reach by car. On the premises of La Granera there are several roofed terraces providing shade on the hotter days or cover on the rainy ones.
Catalonia Square is perfectly situated in the heart of Barcelona, within walking distance to La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, and a metro station, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city's top attractions. Surrounded by fantastic restaurants, cafes, and shops, this clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff offers an unbeatable location for an amazing stay.
Cambrils
Host Francesc was so attentive to detail and so kind, and a beautiful Catalonian welcome gift was left on table. I adored the apartment, clean and perfectly appointed, so many extras included, the kindness of a bottle of water in fridge, coffee pods, lovely balcony with lounger and beach deck chair, fantastic location near supermarket and strand.
Hotel Centre Reus was absolutely perfect for my vacation stay in the beautiful & historical city of Reus, Tarragona, in Catalonia. The staff were so very friendly & informative, the suite was spotlessly clean and I had the most amazing balcony view overlooking the square and priory church of Sant Pere Apòstol de Reus.
Outstanding hotel! A very high standard. I have to emphasize the cleanliness and comfortable bathtub in our room. During your stay the restaurant is a must-go, my favourite menu in Catalonia for a very good price. Access to the spa was a very pleasant bonus. Thank you. Check-out limit was late, which was also a nice plus.
Our room was big and very clean. The stuff is helpful and friendly. There is a kettle tea and coffee in the room for free. The hotel is a bit far from the city center but metro and bus stations are one or two minutes walking distance. Take the bus H12, get off close to plaza Catalonia and everywhere.
The location on Plaza Catalonia is excellent. The hotel is beaitiful, and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is one of the best that I have experienced in several weeks of traveling around Catalonia, Navarra, and Pais Vasco. Delicious, fresh, and diverse, just begin to describe it.
Eixample, Barcelona
A good location: walking distance to Sagrada Familia and Catalonia Square. Plenty of grocery shops and cafes in the area. The hotel has a nice internal patio terrace with various plants. Interior space is very nice. too. The hotel is in a quiet street, which is a good bonus for Europe.
The location is excellent, just a few blocks from Girona's medieval area. There's a nice cocktail lounge on the terrace, excellent buffet breakfast, best so far of all the hotels in this little corner I've stayed in Catalonia. Best of all the amiable and professional staff.
This hotel is really nice, I love it so much and would like to lodge there again whenever I visit the Barcelona/Catalonian region. The housekeepers, receptionists, waiters and waitresses, cooks every one of them knows their job and handled it perfectly.
It was great journey and i like everything about Spain and culture here in Catalonia. Thank you so much, see you soon again :)
One of best hotel in Catalonia! Breakfast, dinner, staff, sweeping pool and spectacular view of the best ❤️
Sarrià-St. Gervasi, Barcelona
Quiet location 20 minutes by train from Catalonia Square. Near nature, I saw a wild boar😄
