It's a beautiful religious town, buzzing with abundant energy. It's a melting pot of people of different cultures from every nook and corner of India. The local markets are awesome for religious shopping, dry fruits, herbs and mouth watering vegetarian dishes/chaats etc. Katra is all about Mata Vaishnodevi and the devine energy can be felt everywhere. It's an amazing and surreal experience to be in Katra and visit the Shrine of Mata Vashnidevi. Visit to Katra is recommended with family and friends!

Beautiful place but crowded all year round due to its popularity. Wonderful for people who are devotee of mother vaishnavdevi. Very well connected with train services. However be careful of the local beggers. They are a big nuisance in the town.

The long way up to the cave is not that easy but part of the the pelgrimage and memorable. I did start early in the morning at 6am. It was a very quiet and nice walk and no waiting line to enter the cave. When you start later it will be very busy on the road.
Registration office at main market to get your permit is open from 5 am to 10 pm. From there it is 2 km walk to the gate to start your pelgrimage. It is open 24 hours a day.

Katra is a small town from where you start the Vaishno Devi...
Katra is a small town from where you start the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. There are a couple of temples nearby and it is a quiet location. One should always book a train for Katra station only if planning for Vaishno devi. The other two stations are very far from Katra. The main market is good. Hotels are cheap and you won't find many options for food as it's a vegetarian city and the cuisine options are limited.
As a middle-class family on a budget, we were initially hesitant about staying at Hotel Katra Grand. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the affordable rates and the exceptional value for money. The hotel's commitment to providing comfortable and enjoyable accommodations at reasonable prices makes it an excellent choice for families of all socioeconomic backgrounds.
My guests Mr.Ankit Shukla with family stayed there from 30th morning to night of 31st. ,on 31st May evening I had called from Satna M.P.
to get connected my guest on phone but manager did not tried even my three times request. 😕 For place like Katra where no prepaid network it is very unfortunate not to connect guest by hotel reception.
Location of the property is very good, on the road and very easy to locate. Excellent hotel for stay in Katra. When we visited our room was upgraded and provided Hassel free early check-in also. Rooms were big, clean and service was excellent. They provided extra bed for kid. Staff behaviour was customer friendly, very nice and cooperative person.
First of all there's nothing worth liking about this hotel. It's a catfish of hotels. The location shows at the time of booking shows It's located in the middle of Katra, at a very suitable location. When you reach the location and call the person at the hotel, he'll tell you in the rudest way possible to "get a cab and travel BACK 8kms".
It's located in a small lane but vehicles can easily access. Very close to Centre of katra for all activities like market, Niharika Bhavan etc. Owner provided Vehicle for transfer at reasonable price. Near by many hotels are avilable at walkable distance.
The hotel is located at a prime location of Katra.. walkable distance from Katra. rooms and bathrooms are very net and clean. rooms are very specious also. All the staff members are very well behaved & all the issues are resolved on immediate basis.
this hotel doesnt have any facilities.. staffs are rude and uneducated.. despite booking amount paud they do not booking information and denied check in.. the manager and owner did not bother to take the calls from oyo or booking .com
The hotel is conveniently located in Katra close to the railway station and bus stand. The room was pretty neat and clean. The restaurant offered a reasonable variety of food. The staff were helpful. It’s good value for money.
One of the best hotel. I have ever visit... The food was tasty. Staff was well behave and trained. They are always ready to help others. Which makes your trip awesome.. I sugeest people to come here and enjoy the services.
One of the worst experience I have, where in the hotel refused to accommodate us even after successful booking receipt. It was a security threat on us as the SIM in Jammu dosent work and we were wandering for hotel room
The location of property is very near to Katra Station and Market place. Hotel had drop facility till Starting point I.e. Ban Ganga which was very helpful. Staff was very courteous and property was well-maintained.
Location of the hotel was at a walking distance to the Vaishnodevi registration counter. Navdurga sweets and Nathu sweets were close by to have the meals.
