We liked the room it was quite spacious.
We liked the room it was quite spacious. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was an easy bus ride from the main station and there were many restaurants nearby. The breakfast offered a lot options both Japanese and Western. The staff were very helpful finding some bus information and lending us umbrellas and adaptors.

I highly recommend trying some unusual gyoza. Also get out to Ohya! The museum, the cafes, Tagefudousan... It is better to have a car to get to the beautiful spots on the outskirts of town like onsens.

Very easy to get around downtown (west side of station).
Very easy to get around downtown (west side of station). Almost every bus goes up and down the main street. It is a good base to make trips to Ashikaga Flower Park, Nasu, Nikko, Ohya and less than an hour by fast train to Tokyo. I like the view of the mountains from Utsunomiya. On a clear day, the top floor of the Prefecture Building (kencho) has a great view.

I went to meet friends, not for sightseeing. It is famous for gyoza (Chinese dumplings), which are delicious, but if you are in Japan/the Tochigi area you could easily give Utsunomiya a miss! Nothing wrong with it at all, it's just a normal small town!

It's a calm city but if you are looking for world of heritage location i recommend Nikko there is a great location you must go to look, such as Toshogu World Heritage Kegon Waterfall, etc. and also Ashikaga Flower Park at Ashikaga.
We went to Nikko from Tokyo. Considering the distance, the best way is to go to Utsunomiya, have a night sleep there and then go to Nikko without any rush. So, we looked for a nice "base". This hotel was excellent for this purpose. Located in the center of Utsunomiya it offered great access, very convenient parking arrangement, excellent breakfast in the morning. Also, we could have a very good rest as the room had good beds, great bathroom, all the necessary amenities and what not.
THe staff at check in was extremely pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Laundry room is right at the front of the property and very easy to use. You pay for whatever amount of laundry you have, push a button, and it automatically adds detergent, washes, and dries without you doing anything. The free microwaveable meal they include was pretty tasty. Room was almost like a typical business hotel in Japan. Very quiet and you don't notice that you're in a container.
we stayed 3 diffarent hotels in Utsunomiya and we found it was a best stay that i would not mind to take a taxi and pay for 10min from the station.
they have a 5 star hotel atmosphere as they are one of the popular place for wedding in town and welcomed by well trained staffs.
the hotel offers good meals including Teppanyaki, french, italian, chinese and traditional 2 japanese restaurants over looking a skylights or japanese gardens.
Good price for what we got to experience.
Not to say very traditional but it is definitely a rare opportunity to get to stay in a Japanese house and experience how normal Japanese live in their daily lives. The place is really clean and comfy. Most importantly , the owner is very friendly and approachable , being very helpful and kind ! He shares a lot of travel tips and recommended spots that only the local will know.
Located right outside Utsunomiya station, actually connected to the station. Shopping mall, grocery store, and convenience stores all within the same complex. The room and the hotel itself was extremely clean, and the view of the city from the room was spectacular. The “Sky Spa” outside bath on the top floor was amazing.
The room was spacious, with a good space in the entrance way. The location was excellent, very close to Utsunomiya JR station, plus the convenience store next to the hotel is always welcome. The staff were super welcoming! Shoutout to the kind ladies at the hotel’s restaurant!
Good location close to Utsunomiya station and the city center. Comfortable rooms. Breakfast is served, which avoids the Covid rigmarole with vinyl gloves. It is Japanese style and quite pleasant. The hotel offers a good free wifi. You need to update your site there.
The staff are helpful and easy to communicate in English and very near to station, just opposite is the station and next to lobby is McDonald. good value if you don’t mind old facilities.
Staff were really friendly and always greets us when we walk in/out. Hotel provided everything we need for the stay. Room is certainly bigger than your usual japan hotels.
