I live in Sasebo, been here for years, and I love it! It's a perfect balance between the city and the countryside, with everything you need, and all the wonderful sights to see, especially Huis Ten Bosch, one of Japan's biggest theme parks. If you want a break from the big city and want to experience a smaller but very beautiful and diverse place, head to Sasebo.

Sasebo is a small town, I was made to feel welcome in the local restaurants and bars I went to. The city is in a beautiful location on the south-west coast of Kyushu and there is lots to do. I will go back.

We visited Sasebo with our son who was stationed at the US Navy base 10 years ago. We enjoyed walking around the perimeter of the base and some areas he frequented. Spent only a day and a half in the city.

It took too long to get from Nagasaki airport to the hotel.
It took too long to get from Nagasaki airport to the hotel. The hotel's location in the city is ideal with shops and restaurants all around. It is a buzzing, bustling city. Wish i had more time to explore the beautiful parks.
Just simply an amazing hotel in a fantastic location! As is so true for most Japanese hotels, the staff went way above and beyond always very friendly, always wanting to help a bell boy was always there to help with your luggage. we did not eat at the hotel. We chose to eat out in town but it appears they had a very good restaurant.. there is a family Mart on the first floor inside the hotel that is extremely well stocked!
We had a wonderful trip this time. The special thing was that we left our water bottle and sunglasses on the front desk, the hotel sent us an email ,we had return to the train station and took jr back right away~the person from the hotel sent our stuffs to the station,we met their.Really appreciate about this. And the view from the hotel is really really nice! All the stuffs in the bathroom are really high quality! Awesome!
We were visiting our grandson who is stationed in Sasebo with the US Navy and the hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the base. The area we walked through felt safe and was close to flowering areas of the city. The room was comfortable, and the price was very affordable. The staff in the restaurant and those at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. A Japanese-style buffet breakfast was included in the price.
Location of hotel is next to the main entrance of Huis Ten Bosch. We can park our car at hotel once we arrived. We pay 1000 yen for parking fee and we can take our car out at next dat when we check out. We can enjoy in Huis Ten bosch until closed time and walk back to our hotel. The room is good. The breakfast at restaurant was great.
The Villa at Sasebo was a great find ! It really made our trip more enjoyable. It was very close to everything … The arena were visiting and also lots of eateries ! It was so clean, spacious, and contemporary. We will definitely choose this same property next time we are in the area ! Also having your own parking is so convenient.
the hotel felt quite historical, like taken back in time which was quite cool. Old room and bathroom (appreciate the separate bath and toilet) and clean. Lovely reception area with huge chandelier. Loads of character.
The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast had a nice mix of Western and Japanese dishes to choose from. The location was fantastic, right. Near Sasebo Station and Bus Center without facing the busy main road.
I liked the location of the hotel. There's a McDonalds and Family Mart within walking distance. I also liked how nice the staff was. The cleaning staff was tentative and ensured customers were taken care of.
the buffet breakfast had a bit of everything and exceptional service. the staff is s helpful and friendly . they define what a fine hotel customer service should be.
i must if i am in the area
It is very near the station and if you are driving they have a carpark connected to the hotel. It is also a walking distance to the shopping arcade.
Room was comfortable as well.
robot staff was fun but easily confused. location was nice. hotel restaurant was closed for unknown reasons but we went to the one in the next hotel. room was great
The location is superb - very convenient especially if you want to stay late at Huis Ten Bosch. Staff was polite and helpful. Room was spacious (for Japan).
Great location, next to train station and easy walk to park. Inexpensive alternative to the Huis Ten Bosch hotels with no added costs related to the park.
