We visited Sasebo with our son who was stationed at the US Navy base 10 years ago. We enjoyed walking around the perimeter of the base and some areas he frequented. Spent only a day and a half in the city.

We chose to eat out in town but it appears they had a very good restaurant.. there is a family Mart on the first floor inside the hotel that is extremely well stocked!

The area we walked through felt safe and was close to flowering areas of the city. The room was comfortable, and the price was very affordable. The staff in the restaurant and those at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. A Japanese-style buffet breakfast was included in the price.
