The Castle grounds, museum of modern art, night lit botanical garden and the acquarium are excellent, and my kids also had a good time climbing the various rock formations/ sitting on a boatride to see the sea caves, and soaking in the sakura. (the latter 3 activities require a drive out of Kanazawa itself)
Make sure to visit the Aquarium! Family friendly, well curated, and very reasonably priced.
Be sure to eat at the seafood market - the sea urchin and unagi on offer will speak for itself

Kanazawa is a beautiful city. The castle and park are wonderful especially with the Sakura in bloom. It is easy and cheap to get around and the food choices are excellent. We particularly enjoyed the cocktail bar Furansu - exceptional cocktails

Kanazawa was brilliant, especially after Kyoto.
Kanazawa was brilliant, especially after Kyoto. While Kyoto was crowded and set-up to process lots and lots of people, here it was so different. The cherry blossom festival in the park was full of people, but it wasn't heaving, like so much of Kyoto, and it was mostly Japanese people. There's so much to see and do here! People were super friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The castle area is beautiful, especially at night. The various Chaya areas were pleasant too. We rented kimonos and went for a rickshaw tour around Kanazawa, which was a highlight of the whole trip.

We spent 4 days in Kanazawa.
We spent 4 days in Kanazawa.
Taking time to enjoy beautiful parks during cherry blossoms.
Parks looked like from the postcard, presenting top level of Japanese garden art. Including windy paths, streams, small bridges, bonzai trees. Elaborated to every detail.
City walls impressed me, and at well preserved samurai district we could find out how the life looked like 300-400 years ago.
If I will have more time, I will spend couple days more here.

If you love to go to traditional food markets, this is the hotel to book. You just have to cross the street to go to the market and you can practically eat all your meals there and the price is so reasonable. Caveat here, if you eat at the stalls, you will have to eat standing up in front of the stall but it is great that you can move from stall to stall to taste different foods. However, there are also restaurants inside.

Kanazawa is a great place to visit and to have as a central point to head out to other places. From Kanazawa we went out to Kurobe Gorge which is such beautiful country side. Hotel Intergate staff we excellent. Pretty much anything you needed, they would tend to. If going back to Kanazawa, I would stay here again.
The location was a straightforward 10-minute walk from the main Kanazawa station (where the Shinkansen stops), and centrally located to walk easily to all of the places we wanted to visit in town. The hotel itself was gorgeous, the staff were all very kind, the shower, toilet, and bed were all top-tier, the Japanese breakfast was balanced, light, and delicious, and there were lots of free amenities. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if I have the chance to return to Kanazawa!! 本当にありがとうございました〜
Everything! Building was new. Rooms were beautifully appointed and spacious. The Japanese style room was serene and lovely with great facilities and lighting as well. The Hotel itself was quiet and calm. The common guest lounge was inviting and accessible. Minn Kanazawa staff were welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again one day hopefully. It was only a short walk to most of the local attractions. Oh… and great Wifi! :)
Such a great room for the price - Incredible value. Rooms are on the small side (which is typical in Japan), but comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, they helped us make reservations at local restaurants and recommended activities in the area. The hotel is just steps away from Omicho Market and Kanazawa castle park, so it’s in a very convenient location. Would definitely recommend!
Room was a good size and we had all comforts. Breakfast was unique where you had two choices: a Western breakfast or a Japanese breakfast. We tried each and both were enjoyable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is about a 20 minute leisurely walk from the rail station but very close to the markets and the Kanazawa Castle and Kenrouken Garden
I would recommend this hotel to people visiting the area
I stayed at Hotel Pacific Kanazawa on my very first visit to Kanazawa, and I have chosen to stay there on every subsequent visit. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I love the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. However, I would suggest that it might be time for a light refurbishment. I would recommend this lovely hotel to anyone who is planning to visit the beautiful Kanazawa.
Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi is one of the best hotels I have stayed in during my travels in Japan. The room was spacious with a very aesthetic and cute Japanese style decor. The bathroom and toilet were a good size and very clean. The staff were excellent and provided free delicious udon noodles at night. Upon checking out, the staff saw us off with a bag of Kanazawa style specialty snacks.
The hotel is clean and have parking. The staff is wonderful. Ms Kim is amazing and she went out of the way to help us sort out our cell phone problem. She swt the tone for great customer service at the hotel. Both Ms. Kim and Ms, Goto ate very attentive and helpful. The hotel is close to Kanazawa station, which is convenient. It has access to many good restaurants.
Beautiful and authentic rooms, very aesthetic and great to experience more of an Onsen style hotel. The amenities were fantastic - would definitely recommend including breakfast in your stay, the buffet style options were fantastic and delicious. It's walking distance to everywhere you would want to go around Kanazawa and was a great base to come and go from too.
The breakfast was delicious. A Japanese buffet breakfast was provided and there was a range of foods to please everyone. I really enjoyed using the onsen after a day of sightseeing. It was very clean and very relaxing. The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance of the major sites in Kanazawa, as well as restaurants and shops.
Super confortable and new hotel in Kanazawa. The location is amazing, really close to the castle and city gardens, around the corner from the city market and walking ditance from the old town. The hotel iself is super beautiful with a garden in the middle. One of the best hotels I have stayed in Japan, with big bedroom.
The hotel is well located, close to Omicho market and you can walk to Kanazawa castle (18 min) and Kenrokuen garden (19 min) and Higashi Chaya district (16 min). It's at 10 min walk from the train station.
The rooms are cleaned and beds are comfortable.
The breakfast is various and good.
The staff is kind and helpful.
Our favourite stay out of the 14 days in Japan. Beautiful hotel right across from the market. Room was spacious and beautiful with all the amenities you can want or need. The smell of the lobby is like a spa which follows in to the beautiful and relaxing onsen. Would highly recommend a stay in Soki while in Kanazawa.
Room was spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. Location was great. Close to the market. Self service washing & drying machines. Ice maker. The Loop Tourist bus stop was only 50 meters away opposite Starbucks. Kanazawa Station approximately 800-900 meters from hotel. Could open window. Separate toilet.
Super close to the market and to kanazawa station. The property is helping you to get directly to the station with their own buss shuttle service. The pajamas felt really good and also inside the room you can make a very good tea.
The bathroom is huge compared to other hotels.
The breakfast was the best we have had in Japan so far.
The room had a nice view to kanazawa city and part of the castle's garden.
We had to make a call to the post service and also send the luggage to the next hotel, in the reception they helped us solve all this.
The hotel had the best location and had great attention to detail: the tea set, the sink, even a little gold leaf mirror in the bathroom and the complimentary japanese pastries. I really enjoyed seeing kanazawa in every detail of the room.
The hotel structure is wonderful: the room is very comfortable, and having a washing machine in the room made a difference in our stay. The location of the hotel is pretty convenient since it's close to Kanazawa's JR station.
This was probably the best hotel experience we've ever had in Japan! The rooms were clean and very comfortable, the breakfast was lovely. All in all, I highly recommend this place to anybody staying in Kanazawa!
Very friendly and helpful staff. The bar downstairs has a very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is located very centrally in the heart of Kanazawa. The room was pretty spacious for Japan.
Quiet, centrally located hotel in Kanazawa. Not expensive. Great bar on the first floor with tasty food. Friendly staff willing to give recommendations for the area
