A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
Property was exceptional, clean space, lots of amenities inside the room and facilities are super well maintained. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The hotel is also located close to major areas ( 5 min walk from JR Hakodate station, right across Hakodate morning market ekini, 3 min walk from the nearby tram station or 7 min away from the Hakodate ekimae tram stop) and there are multiple konbinis nearby. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visitinf Hakodate!!!
Very short distance from the JR station, reasonable price, fully equipped cozy Japanese style room, amazing decoration, kind staff:) (their English are pretty good 🫡
I even got a present when I checked out 😭 Thank you so much! This is my favourite hotel in Hokkaido🥺❤️It’s a pity that I only spent one day in Hakodate, if I have the chance to travel to Hokkaido again, I will definitely book it again.
I highly recommend this hotel to all the travellers!
An intimate luxury hotel with only 10 guest rooms so their service makes you feel like a VIP everyday. Conveniently located near bottom of Mt Hakodate within walking distance. Enjoyed the Omakase breakfast we never knew what we will be having and it is always a spread during our 3 nights stay there. Room was very spacious and clean, manual coffee grinder and aromatic beans provided for a different coffee experience. Lobby also provide free flow wines.
breakfast was lovely , times to use the onsen were accommodating. From Hakodate station take tram number 5 and it’ll drop you off 3mins walk from the hotel. I forgot my charger and the hotel forwarded it to my next hotel free of charge. The staff were very nice and spoke good English. Chang was amazing and made my first ryokan stay a special one. The hotel does have a card machine, disregard what it says on booking.com.
Our room was upgraded to triple share, which was great. We needed the extra space for our luggages, etc.
Plenty of towels & toiletries. There was an ice machine in the lobby area. The location is great. 3 mins walk from Hakodate train station & bus terminal. There are plenty of eateries & minimarts around the hotel. We also had a nice view of the sea port. Would stay here again, next time.
The hotel is located within 5 to 10 min walk from the train station and Hakodate Morning Market. There is a large parking lot. The room was very spacious and we could open 5 luggages. Toilet and shower room are separate which is great for large groups. Bed was very comfy and the TV could access YouTube and Netflix. They also provided pyjamas which was pretty comfy.
This hotel was the second APA i stayed at and it was still really good value for money. All the way on the northern island of japan it was in a really good location just 5-10 mins away from Hakodate station and had many places nearby that you could go to eat or drink at. There was also a tram stop right outside so it would be easy to get around the city as well.
Amazing breakfast! I shipped my luggage directly to the hotel when arrived at Hakodate airport and just dive into visiting empty handed. The staffs were very friendly and thoroughly introduced the amenities and hot springs. Great location, close to the JR station and bus terminal, and minutes-walking distance to the hakodate morning market.
We loved our very clean spacious room, the warm welcome and care of our hosts. They embodied the spirit of a ryokan or good niche hotel. Not in terms of luxury but by their hospitality. The location is perfect, and, as we noted, staying here in this lovely decorated place was a worthwhile attraction of Hakodate in itself.
1. Good location, that has convenience store right below the hotel. There is a tram station and a few bus stops (slightly away from the hotel) that goes to Hakodate Station. Walkable distance to Goryokaku Koen.
2. Good spread of breakfast buffet
3. Room size was slightly bigger than the average room size in Tokyo.
We did not book the hotel at the city center, but the location of this hotel is closed to the ocean and closed to the airport and public transportation. Our room has a beautiful ocean view and hot spring in the room. Breakfast is great too. The staffs are friendly and helpful, helping us booking the local restaurant.
This hotel is very near the Hakodate Station and across the street from the morning market. It has an upscale feel, and the staff were extremely solicitous. The 13th floor bar made the experience: impressive views out over the lights of Hakodate and the harbor, very good drinks, pleasant atmosphere.
I have to say a big thank you to the staff. My mom forgot the room number and got lost in the hotel. To find her, we caused lots of trouble to staff. But they show patience and professionalism. This group are so helpful. Thanks. I will book this hotel again if I had a chance to visit Hakodate again.
I loved the city views looking over the fish market and the sea. The aesthetics of the lobby and the hotel rooms.
The staff were so friendly, the ease of getting some food (lots of different places to eat). Make sure you do yourselves a favour and go to The Hakodate Ropeway.
Hotel is quite close to Hakodate station. Everything is very standard, typical of a small hotel use by workman staying the night.
I can open my window to allow fresh air. The view is quite nice.
The room is small but enough for one person. It is a good value for money.
Great location as the hotel is on the left as you exit the Hakodate train station. The room is clean and comfortable, environment friendly with replacement of towels for less than 3 nights’ stay. Public bath in the hotel is nice and offers refreshing popsicles.
I am absolutely love this hotel. I believe this is the one of the best and convenient hotels in the Hakodate area. The common area of lounge near the public bath is so relaxing. Very close to station. I hope price for this hotel will be kept accessible.
Very good location, reasonable price and friendly staff. it's exceeded my expectation, I think I will choose this hotel again if I have the chance to travel to Hakodate in the future.
