Lovely room, great location. We had a room facing the river on the main route but was very quiet. Meal was lovely and reception service was great!

Our room was an accessible one as I am disabled. It was very spacious, brilliantly thought through, very clean, everything worked and modern. The staff were excellent, the front desk particularly so. The hotel had a nice culture about it. Staff weren't nice because we were paying guests, my honest feeling is that that was the way they were. The Manager we met and a most helpful and friendly person he was too. He runs a good ship!
The breakfast room and main restaurant was on the first floor and had an entrance for wheel chairs/walkers. The view over the river The breakfast was excellent and all the staff we met were genuinely nice people and reflected the friendliness, helpfulness and hospitality we found subsequently all over the parts of Ireland that we visited (regions south of Dublin). They appeared happy too. My sincere thanks to them!
Faithlegg House Hotel is located on the River Suir Estuary, 5 miles from Waterford Airport.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, excellent family room, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was great. Hotel is in a perfect location to explore the area or cycle the Greenway as we did. Safe to leave bicycles overnight.
Featuring a garden, bar and views of sea, The Saratoga is located in Waterford, a few steps from Woodstown Beach. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace.
Waterford surprised us. The museums are great, we enjoyed especially the Bishop's palace. All the people we interacted with were very nice, kind and helpful. The Waterford people and city council have done a great job in this last 10 years. We will go again

I liked the fact that staff changed me to another room when I complained about the noise of the boiler. However the room we stayed in was freezing and this was February and it was cold.
The staff need to be a bit flexible about breakfast times. The receptionist would not accept that we would come down between 9.30 and 10am or even at 10 minutes to 10am. She said that we had to give her an exact time to book the table! We said 10.am, which she accepted but when we got to breakfast the tables were cleared and staff said that we could have a cooked breakfast only. We stood our ground given the night we had and we did get the breakfast we would have got had she allowed us to come down at 9.45am. We got a strong impression was that it was all about what was convenient for the staff as opposed to looking after the customer. Such a pity.

I moved to Dublin earlier this year.
I moved to Dublin earlier this year. I've been to most Irish cities at this point. I decided to get out of Dublin for the night and came to Waterford on fairly short notice.
Perhaps it was the (rare) nice weather, but Waterford is now one of my favorite cities in Ireland and was the perfect place *for me* to spend ~24 hours. Note that I usually race around from the moment of arrival to the moment of leaving, so others might enjoy all that Waterford has to offer - King of The Vikings VR experience, the Time Museum, the Irish Wake museum, some silly crystal place (albeit with an impressive company store,) Constitution Square, the Medieval Museum, Bishops Palace Museum, the Silver Museum, the river bank, building murals, etc. - for two or three days.
By the way, several of those museums can be seen for one ~15-euro pass, easily bought online the day of arrival (such as I did!) There might be even cheaper options; check before you go! I'm not a museum person, but even I enjoyed everything above. https://visitwaterford.com/vw_news/waterford-treasures-launches-freedom-of-waterford-tour/
I stayed at the Waterford Marina hotel which offered a great view of the river, albeit for 160 USD for my one night there. (Did I mention I decided to go with almost no notice? This was what was available!)

Drizzle rain and rain can happen, be prepared, it is Ireland. Lots of Touristy things to do if you like doing those things. Cost of regular clothing is inexpensive and easily obtained. The pints at The Exchange were 4.60 euro, a very good price. Tipping is not expected and does not show up on tap readers or bills. There is construction throughout Ireland however if the country side is your calling, it is not far away and is very, very enchanting.

Waterford City has a harbour front which is lined with parking and the highest rated hotels in the area (Granvilles, The Tower Hotel etc.) which all provide nice places to eat and drink. There are a number of museums in the area, one of the newest being the Wake Museum which is quirky as it's all about how the Irish celebrate death and features costumed staff so is well worth a visit.

Don’t be in a hurry to leave Waterford!
Don’t be in a hurry to leave Waterford! There are so many wonderful places and exhibits to enjoy, from the museum to Waterford glass, to the Viking trail…. and the Tower Hotel is the perfectly placed base for all these and more… and I mustn’t forget to mention the friendly local people too. Enjoy!
We were extremely satisfied with the hotel and the wonderful staff. The reception from the staff at the front desk was very pleasent and very helpful on information for the area . The staff from the restaurant was above helpful and the cleaning staff was very good and the room and rest of hotel was sparkling clean. We already have told friends to come to your hotel. The staff in the breakfast were a pleasure to be with. We felt very comfortable
Thank you.
The woman at the front desk was wonderful. After I checked out that morning, I left to get the bus for the airport. When I checked for phone, I realized then it was back at the hotel, I panicked and started walking back, only to see this sweet woman running toward me. I was so relieved to see her with phone in hand. I thanked her and ran back in time to catch my bus . It was a close call but I made it. Because of this woman's kindness!
This place does not exist!
It is a rip off. Booking.com needs to remove it from their listing.
We found the pub below and they know nothing about rooms. The hotel across the street has been there for years and they don't know anything about it. The hotel clerk, who has worked there for over 20 years also found the listing and could not find the address because it doesn't exist.
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS RIP OFF. DO NOT BOOK THIS!!
Super breakfast both in taste and service with lovely views over the grounds. The 1738 cocktail and whiskey bar feels great and has some excellent cocktails and a good local Waterford whisky and gin selection. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the overall hotel had a good feel to it. The indoor pool was good, lanes for serious people and a nice area for us to swim around in as a family.
I and my husband spent 3 nights at the Viking Hotel and I have to say it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service better than any other hotel we stayed in.
The location is a little bit far from the city centre, but you can easily arrive there by car or by bus. A big plus for us was that the room was quiet and we could catch on our sleep.
It was amazing. They hotel was so clean and beautiful surrounding. Can’t believe it’s a 4 star. Should be a 5 star. Staff were so helpful and well mannered. Very organised and very friendly. Loved it from start to finished. Going to come back for a last weekend.
I booked and committed to pay at the travelodge ,there was one non national on duty and was unable to take payment ,I left the property and booked the marina hotel . couldn't get a refund ,disgusted as I'm a frequent user of booking.com
Historic renovated hotel centrally located just a block from waterfront. Waterford Greenway bicycle trail and restaurants close by on waterfront. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet.
Service was exceptional from Sharon and John Luke at reception. Great place to begin your cycle on the greenway. The hotel is 1km from the cycle trail in a quiet rural location away from the busy city centre. Highly recommended.
Staff so friendly and helpful. The food from breakfast to evening meal was exceptional. The location is excellent. Our second time staying at Granville hotel and not disappointed. Looking forward to next stay.
Spacious four bed three bathroom house in grounds of exclusive golf hotel. Perfect secluded setting, but within easy drive into Waterford city centre. Great kitchen with full facilities in utility room.
Lovely location, Excellent meals and a great Irish Breakfast. Staff could not be more accommodating. Would have stayed another night but unfortunately Hotel was booked out. Would definitely stay again.
it was within close proximity to the city centre, there was on sight parking too which was a help, the layout of the hotel itself was labelled clearly and easy to follow
Cozy hotel, rooms were comfortable, bar/restaurant had fantastic food and was a nice place to relax after a day of wandering around New Ross, Waterford, and Wexford!
