The breakfast was average. Though they had a fair amount of items, it felt like food was prepared on a factory floor and not with love. Staff were friendly but simple things like an omelet are charged.

Cairns was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Australia.
Cairns was the highlight of our 10-day trip to Australia. We loved the beautiful natural beauty it offers and the convenience as a base point to snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef, ride the gondola to Kuranda Village and hike Daintree Rainforest. Mossman Gorge and the gondola stop within the Daintree Rainforest is jaw-dropping when you see the trees, plants and fauna.
Park rangers, hotel staff, and even shuttle bus drivers were very friendly and accommodating, especially the people at Visions Apartment on the esplanade. There were lots of restaurants and shopping around the esplanade. Lots of activities for multi-generational group of ours.
We rented a car last minute from a local family-run rental, who brought the car to our hotel. Very friendly and convenient! We were a bit nervous driving on the left side of the road, but turned out to be an easy drive to Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas. We hiked the well-marked trails and learned about the local Aborigines culture in Mossman then stopped in Port Douglas to see wild cockatoos, fox bats and had great ice cream in the small town. We loved everything about Cairns and even though there were rain storms during our trip in May, it was a nature-lovers dream!

Cairns is a fantastic little city that is a gateway to some of Australia's beautiful natural sights. There are many tours on offer from Cairns to see the Daintree Rainforest or the Great Barrier Reef. The nightlife is good and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to refuel after big days of activities.

Cairns is both a hub of activity and a gateway to adventures within a few hours of travel.
It has an ambient climate with all the services and culture you’d expect of a much bigger city. There is so much to do in cairns and the public transport system is both convenient and well run.
There are so many adventures to be had on the Great Barrier Reef, Green Island and Fitzroy Island. Mission Beach, The Atherton Tablelands and The Daintree are all a day trip from Cairns.

Positive: Skyrail and historic train, nature, pool in Cairns, boardwalk, Botanical Gardens (absolute highlight!!!). Don't miss Emerald Creek Ice Creamery - lots of varieties and very yummy! Dundee's restaurant offered outstanding food and an incredible venue with a massive fish tank to look at while dining, it's pricey, but worth it. The Daintree is as exciting as ever. Solar Whisper Croc Cruise was really good. Daytrip to Atherton Tablelands was lovely. Rusty's market is a must! Only downside of Cairns: dining is fairly expensive in general.

We went at the start of the dry season.
We went at the start of the dry season. The weather was very warm but still humid.
Cairns central has great public facilities.
The swimming lagoon is fantastic for all ages and has surf lifesavers in attendance. BBQ cookers all along the Esplanade, excellent playgrounds.
Muddy Waters in particular, the kids went crazy.
Of course you go for the reef trips and the train trip and the Skyrail up to Kuranda village. A lovely day out in beautiful rainforest.
Port Douglas and Mossman are a drive north if you have the time, they are another must see in this scenic part of north Queensland.
A drive up onto the Tablelands opens up a different part of the area. Natural and historical attractions. It's worth the drive.
Terrible - do not stay here with family ! It’s loud, beds are uncomfortable, sketchy people everywhere!!! Loud music till early hours of morning. Costs the same as a resort as a family room there. Save yourself money and pay less at cairns resort. They say it’s not a party place, don’t believe it. My children could not sleep. To be honest, I couldn’t. I thought the floor was okay (we checked in and let the kids on the floor, after playing for 3 mins their feet were black ! From the inside hotel room! ) ridiculous. I could have vomited
The location is ok, close to the city. We hired a car, it's easier in Cairns if you want to explore all the beauties that the region is offering. We had an apartment which was ok, we had the chance to wash our clothes and to cook some meals (which is not bad if you travel for 40 days). We had to spend some times in the apartment, due to heavy rain and floods. likely the hotel is not situated next to rivers. The staff is super kind.
Excellent stay at oaks Cairns. The location was perfect - right across from the esplanade pool and very close to the reef terminal, lots of places to eat nearby to! The rooftop bar was a stunning place to have a coffee while watching the sunrise over the coral sea! Staff were wonderful, I had to make a few changes to my stay and they were always very helpful. The shower was probably the best ever I’ve had in a hotel!
Stayed here twice, no frills hotel very close to Cairns CBD, only 8 minutes to night market and many food oulets. 3 minutes to Esplanade and nearest bus stop. Comfortable bed, good shower, very quiet, has a desk & chair for laptop work etc., has a mini kitchen and coffee making. Everything I needed. Highly recommended value for money.
Love the Location of this hotel right in the centre just 5 mins walk to the esplanade, cafes and woolies.
The manager Peter was very kind and helping. Booked us our very early morning taxi for the airport. ..very helpful person, great knowledge of the City.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable.
Will visit again.
Location, location, location. Right on the Esplanade and lagoon, you can't beat this hotel for a central stay in Cairns. We took a short walk to the marina for our great barrier reef cruise.
The property was beautiful, very chic and modern. Clean and comfortable. The city view from the room is quite pleasant.
Quite spacious apartment, with a comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. It is virtually next door to Cairns Central Shopping Centre which makes access to two large supermarkets 5 - 10 mins away. The Esplanade in Cairns is only a 12 -15 minute stroll away. There are also three pools - one heated.
We stayed at Trinity Links Resort 2 nights during Christmas break with our family.
Very spacious living area and fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms.
Other facilities you get with Wyndham hotel chains are swimming pools, spa, tennis courts, golf clubs, etc.
Wyndham has done it again...
Stayed in 1 bedroom apartment. A basic space with good balcony views of the Esplanade. A central position within walking distance to restaurants, cafes, the lagoon, galleries, city shops, etc. The hotel is very quiet & the staff are lovely. The apartment was very clean.
Greg the apartment manager was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The location was peaceful and a good walk into Cairns city along the esplanade. The rooms were spacious enough for our family of 6 and the semi-enclosed balcony was lovely to chill out on.
everything was so clean and the room was pretty mush standard between me and my partner we both have 1 year old child therefore we both love the Luxury of the location and the room we would like to take our family to stay there for holiday THANK YOU CAIRNS INN
The hotel is located in the quiet part of the town just next to Esplanade, a pleasant 25-30 min walk to Cairns marina. Facilities were clean and comfy; having a kitchenette was a bonus. There is a decent restaurant in-house and quite a few good places around.
Good sized apartments which were well equipped for a family of four. Plenty of pillows and blankets! Close to grocery stores and a short drive to The Esplanade and other Cairns attractions. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
The location was very central. The staff were friendly. We requested a quiet room and received that which was lovely. Liked that the hotel provides free car parking as there are a lot of hotels in cairns that do not.
Great location on cairns esplanade with views of the shore front. 2 bed 2 bathroom apartment in secure building with undercover off street parking.
Would definitely recommend to other family's.
Looking for an affordable but nice place to stay? The Palm Royale is not in central Cairns, but is right next to the Raintrees bus terminal, which can get you all over the city in minutes.
