The Stratford Upon Avon bus tour was good with audio commentary throughout. Some very nice restaurants & pubs to try out & some lovely walks around the town & along the River Avon too.
Parking may be more difficult when staying in the centre of Stratford Upon Avon, unless hotels / Guest houses have allocated parking, but as we caught the train, this was not an issue. The train station is approximately 10 to 15 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford Upon Avon, & the walking route is mainly flat.

Great history especially if one is a Shakespeare aficionado.
Great history especially if one is a Shakespeare aficionado. I was drawn more to the architecture and history as well as the walks along the canal. Also, theater is great, of course. We were unable to see a Shakespeare play, but instead saw "English" at the Royal Shakespeare Company's newest venue "The Other Place", a facility established by the RSC after a top staffer shook things up a bit in 2016 and suggested being more relevant

Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful town.
Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful town. There are lots of green spaces offering respite from the lovely shopping areas. Eating out is a treat. We're vegan and had lots of choice. The Plantarium cafe is a must visit. Lots of reference to the history of Stratford and its connection to Shakespeare add to the charm. We only went for a short break but it's somewhere we'd definitely go back to.

Lovely place to spend a weekend, the river and canal basin area are very pretty, loads of really good restaurants, places to stay and things to do. The Shakespeare birthday celebrations/parade is great (mid April). We did the marathon there and that's a great event if you are keen on running.

Stratford upon Avon is great for a short trip and easy to get to from London or anywhere from the Midlands. Particularly nice in spring. There are options for boat hires along the river, or go on a boating trip with someone else steering. Lots of little shops to explore. The big draw is the RSC. So nice to take in a play there with a pre-theatre dinner and explore the town.

The character because of the properties age and the ample parking, the village is beautiful and the drive into Stratford upon Avon was really pleasant. The room was large and clean with a good sized bathroom and loads of hot water. The staff at the hotel are amazing, very friendly and welcoming making you feel like valued guests from the greeting on arrival to checking out. Breakfast was perfect with various options from a full English, toast, cereal to yogurt and pastries with loads of coffee, tea and juice.
Lucy the host was phenomenal. So friendly we had a three bed room for £110 including a full English breakfast for three people. Absolutely amazing value. The bed was comfy the rooms clean. It's 10 minutes away from the town centre. If I could award this hotel above 10 I would have. The best hotel I have ever stayed in Stratford upon Avon.
The hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment. It was clean but the paint on my bedroom ceiling was peeling and the whole place needs a renovation. It is a sham as this is the best location in Stratford upon Avon and the building is historic. This hotel used to be the place to stay in Stratford upon Avon but unfortunately not anymore.
Location perfect … lovely walk in to Stratford upon Avon ,
Amongst beautiful country side, short walk to local pub,
The bell.. great food.. be prepared for a long wait ( everything cooked to order)
Perfect location to explore the Cotswolds,
Amazing host… 5 star, we really enjoyed our visit,
A lovely old style hotel with old wooden beams, very comfortable bedroom, bar and restaurant, breakfast was good continental and cocked, dinner haddock and chips perfectly cooked. Hotel in centre of Stratford upon Avon. Close by was open-air surface car-park which charged £7 for 24 Hours.
The Water's Edge was a superb guest house and of the highest standard with an amazing bedroom and enormous en-suite bathroom. The hosts, Ana & Andre were perfect hosts and we would not hesitate in highly recommending this gem of a place to anyone visiting Stratford upon Avon.
We had a room in the original building with a partial view of the river. The hotel location was excellent for a theatre visit. Also parking was easy and cheap, £8 overnight in the hotel car park. We would pick this hotel again for a stop in Stratford upon Avon.
The whole package. Lovely bed and a wonderfully peaceful retreat. Made to feel at home. Great location for Stratford Upon Avon and no worries with parking! All in all the best B & B I've ever booked. Can't recommend enough. Breakfast absolutely delicious.
It was a lovely property with much help from the hosts to make everything go smoothly
It’s a great location for seeing Stratford upon Avon. And the hop on hop off bus stop was right outside the door
Location is stunning, the hotel is very unique and charming. The hotel staff were delightful. I couldn't have asked for better. I will visit again next time I'm in England.
